Let There Be Light
Eight nights of fire, eight nights of grit,
A blaze ignites where darkness sits.
Hanukkah’s flames are no soft glow,
They’re sparks of rebellion, a battle’s roar.
The Maccabees rose with bloodied hands,
Fighting for life, for sacred lands.
Not for peace but for defiance,
A people’s rage, their fierce reliance.
Today, the echoes scream once more,
Against the shadows in the midst of war.
Not just survival—but G-d’s spark reclaim,
A light undimmed by fear or shame.
Each candle burns, a call to fight,
To shatter the void, to claim the night.
Justice isn’t given; it’s cut from stone,
Victory forged, not handed, but owned.
So light the menorah, let the flames dare,
To pierce evil, to scorch despair.
Let the flames roar, pierce the dark,
Burn to the core, ignite the spark.
