Psalms 10:7-11
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.

8 He sits in the lurking-places of the villages; in secret places he slay the innocent; his eyes are on the watch for the helpless.

9 He lies in wait in a secret place as a lion in his lair, he lies in wait to catch the poor;
he catches the poor, when he draws him up in his net.

10 He crouches, he bows down, and the helpless fall into his mighty claws.

11 He has said in his heart: ‘G-d has forgotten; He [G-d] hides His face; He [G-d] will never see.’

  1. The Sullivan Dynasty is one of your more fascinating columns. They appear to be a privileged, affluent, and fortunate family. They also appear to be angry about something. Blame society? What for?

I did think of you, Yaacov Apelbaum, when the news was filled with Judge Sullivan’s puzzling decisions and behavior in the Flynn case, and wondered what your analysis would be. I read quite a few columns by attorneys, former prosecutors, and other experts (admittedly those fair minded and not filled with hatred for President Trump and General Flynn) — most seemed to agree with me — it’s time to quit tormenting Flynn. I also read the twitter post that called the junior Sullivan’s behavior into question.

The pictures you’ve posted seem to confirm that mankind hasn’t changed much over the centuries — there are those filled with anger, hatred, and deceit, and the helpless still fall victim to their merciless and mighty claws. Let’s hope and pray that the Mighty God Jehovah watches carefully.

    • Thanks for your comment Joan.

Yes, we do have a multi-tired justice system and “…the law is paralyzed, and justice never goes forth. For the wicked surround the righteous; so justice goes forth perverted (Habakkuk 1:4), but, at the same time we have the technology to expose it and fight it. And all of this is despite the fact that giants like Google, FB, and Twitter are working overtime to suppress the truth. So, net-net, I would say that we are making some progress.

  2. Oh, Yaacov, I see I made a big mistake, I didn’t mean the junior or younger Flynn, I meant younger Sullivan’s behavior. Don’t know how to correct or edit the post. Sorry.

  3. there are also further ties with judge gleeson and his firm debevoise and plimpton, which represented sally yates and andrew weissman, among others, now sullivan’s own atty deborah wilkinson, represented enron, (which curiously got lenient treatment as opposed to arthur anderson, which was cannibalized by hsbc, which gleeson supervises a don’t prosecute order, on and accenture who miss ohr ended working for, but it wouldn’t have occurred to me to investigate this angle, which is out of stephen carter’s garland series of novels, great job again,

    • Thank you for your comment Miguel.

Yes, Sullivan has many ties and connections that can/should fill a book (and a DOJ ethics investigation…), but, I wanted to keep it simple and factual. or as you wrote in your masterpiece Don Quixote:

“but it’s one thing to write as a poet and another thing as a historian. The poet can relate or sing things not as they were but as they should have been, but the historian must write things not as they should have been but rather as they were, without adding or taking away anything at all.”Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra,

As far as resemblance to Carter’s work, that’s a good one! Although, I am not Ziegler himself, I know him well (and his tradecraft). And yes, some of the material in this post did come form a virtual floppy disk in a teddy-bear ;-)

  4. heh, thats an interesting twist, yes the problem with fiction is it has to make sense, reality not so much,
but it rhymes as they say with good fiction,
